We Need Social Media Warning Labels

One family's story

Alexandra Hinks fell down the rabbit-hole of social media addiction. Fed content glamorizing self-harm and body image issues, she sadly died by suicide at age 16.

Alexandra’s parents are channeling their profound loss into advocating for social media safety.

I’m sponsoring Assemblymember Rebecca Bauer-Kahan’s AB 56, which would require social media companies to place a warning label about the mental health harms of social media on their platforms—creating another tool in the toolbox to address this crisis.

I urge the legislature to ensure this critical bill moves to the floor.
